                All Play no Work

The term “corporate entertainment?seems a bit stiff, and suggests business suits, canapés and polite conversation at a conference. That might have been true once, but now the majority of corporate entertainment revolves around team building and having fun.

Many companies now realise that the many forms of corporate entertainment has benefits for staff, clients and the company itself. There are now some very good party entertainment agencies who can arrange the whole event or book headline acts, celebrities, well-known personalities and even movie stars. These kinds of elements ensure that the event isn’t boring or stiff, but fun and engaging.

Events for staff promote comradeship, breaks down barriers and allows people who wouldn’t normally socialise together to meet in a relaxed atmosphere. Even though the talk might be about everything but work, the relationships forged here will carry through to work and help co-operation during the business day. The word “corporation?often refers to larger organisations that have many departments, possibly in diverse locations. Staff might talk to someone every day in the course of their role and never meet that person in real life.

These corporate entertainment events are the ideal opportunity for these kinds of people to get together, form bonds, get to know one another and strengthen their relationship. This will often improve their working relationship too, speed up and improve co-operation and make work related tasks easier to achieve.

The type and tone of the event influences how much the attendees enjoy themselves and how much they, and the company gets out of it. Party entertainment agencies are ideal entities to use to ensure the event has the correct tone and atmosphere to achieve the company’s goal. An external event hosted for clients and suppliers will need to have a completely different feel to one for staff. The choice of entertainment, venue, music, headline act, even food and drink on offer will need to be considered for each. It’s still important to have an element of fun to an external event, but it needs to be much more controlled that one for staff.

The experience and expertise of a professional party entertainment agency will pay dividends if pitched right. It might be an extra expense, but they can achieve a great result with the minimum of fuss. It’s tempting for a company to want to control everything themselves, but unless they have contacts in the showbiz industry, can pull off themed or external events, and can negotiate effectively with venues, it’s much better to use professionals.

Just because something says that it is corporate, doesn't mean that it has to be dull. A well planned and executed corporate event can be worth much more than the expense, either in new client or supplier relationships or those of staff. A well-known headline act, compere or special guest goes that extra mile in convincing the audience that the company means business.
